MYLINH NGO, DMD

It is an amazing privilege for me to help kids and educate families on how to achieve good oral health each and every day. Children are so precious and I feel very lucky that I can use my dental knowledge, attention to detail, empathy and patience just for them. I spent my childhood growing up in sunny San Diego and have loved calling the Bay Area my home for the past thirteen years. I completed my specialty training in pediatric dentistry at UCSF and I received my dental degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, where I graduated among the top of the class.

I am board certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and am involved in teaching the UCSF residents practice management as a volunteer clinical professor. I hold privileges at the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland and the Walnut creek outpatient center. In my spare time, I love using my creativity for arts and crafts, music, and baking healthy eats. I have two sweet girls who brighten my life and keep me smiling. I am an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, California Society of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, California Dental Association and Southern Alameda County Dental Society.

MARAL MOBASHER, DMD

I consider it a privilege to be trusted with the oral care needs of my patients. I am a board-certified pediatric dentist specializing in infants, children, and patients with special health care needs. I believe in treating the unique needs of every child in a case by case manner.

I studied bioengineering at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) with a Presidential Scholarship. During my studies at Caltech, I pursued my passion for research and dentistry at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF), where I watched the doctors’ professional yet empathetic mannerisms and techniques that changed children’s tears to smiles. This experience crystallized my passion for pediatric dentistry. It was also during this experience that I fell in love with the Bay Area and made it my home.

I completed my dental degree at the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn) School of Dental Medicine at the top of my class with honors in clinical dentistry and research. My dedication to excellency in patient care led me to a demanding in-hospital pediatric dental residency program at Jacobi Medical Center in Bronx, NY which prepared me for managing dental traumas, medical emergencies, and sedation dentistry. I completed my specialty training in pediatric dentistry and moved back to California to join my family in the Bay Area.

I am truly honored to work with the team at Pleasanton Pediatric Dentistry and serve this great community. I am well-versed at working with diverse patient populations. I speak Farsi and English fluently, as well as Spanish and Italian at a high intermediate level. I am an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, California Society of Pediatric Dentistry, and San Francisco Dental Society. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, cooking, reading, and playing the Setar.

I completed my specialty training in pediatric dentistry at the Yale School of Medicine. I am board certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.

Every year I look forward to providing dental care to families in the Dominican Republic on dental service trips. In my spare time, I love hiking, going to baseball games, and taking long runs with my dog, Echo.

JENNIFER TUNG, DDS, MS

I love working with the amazing team at Pleasanton Pediatric Dentistry here in my home community. I grew up in the Bay Area and attended grade school and high school in San Francisco.

After graduating, I moved to San Diego and received my bachelor’s degree in human biology and a master’s degree in biology, specializing in pediatric immunology, from the University of California at San Diego.

While completing my master’s degree, I found my true passion was in pediatric dentistry. I attended the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry, and I was honored to graduate as the class valedictorian. I completed my pediatric dentistry residency at the University of Southern California, Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry. While in residency, I worked at Miller Children’s Hospital in Long Beach, Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles, and Children’s Hospital in Orange, where I was able to work with wonderful families and learn from incredible faculty.

When I am not in the dental office, I love playing soccer and most other sports! My family and I love camping, hiking, traveling, and being outdoors.

MICHAEL WANG, DDS, MS

As a pediatric dentist, I feel incredibly privileged to be able to play a unique role in guiding the dental growth and development of a child and setting him or her up for oral health success. There is nothing more rewarding and special to me than to witness an improvement in oral health, resulting from the collaborative efforts made by patients and their parents after dental visits.

Helping individuals from diverse backgrounds is also something that I enjoy immensely as part of my profession. In addition to being able to communicate professionally in Spanish, I am also a native Mandarin Chinese speaker.

I obtained my bachelor’s degree in human biology, and my master’s degree in biological sciences, from UC San Diego. While studying in San Diego, I became involved with the UC San Diego Free Dental Clinics, where I witnessed the dramatic positive impact that dental care could have on one’s quality of life. The experience strongly motivated me to pursue a career in dentistry, and I would later complete my dental degree at the UC San Francisco School of Dentistry.

Immediately following my dental education in San Francisco, I moved to New York to complete my pediatric dentistry residency at the Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine. I graduated with honors from residency and gained a high level of proficiency in treating pediatric patients of diverse needs and backgrounds, in addition to mastering current and novel treatment modalities in pediatric dentistry. In 2019, I became board certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.

Born and raised in the Bay Area, I always had a strong desire to return to California and am so happy to be now serving the East Bay with my colleagues at Pleasanton Pediatric Dentistry.

Outside of pediatric dentistry in my spare time, I enjoy learning about different cultures, visiting museums and national parks, discovering new books and podcasts, and traveling.

CHELSEA WONG, DDS

I am honored to be a part of the Pleasanton Pediatric Dentistry team! I was born in San Francisco and raised in the South Bay. After graduating with a B.S. in Human Biology from the University of California, San Diego, I earned my Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S) degree from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) School of Dentistry.

In dental school, I was the recipient of a 4-year UCSF Regents Scholarship, and I was also elected by my faculty into Omicron Kappa Upsilon national dental honor society, which recognizes students for their academic excellence, strength of character, and professional integrity. At UCSF I devoted much of my time to organizing pediatric dental screenings and outreach events to provide dental care and education to underserved children in San Francisco. With inspiration from my own longtime pediatric dentist, I decided to pursue further training to specialize in pediatric dentistry.

Upon graduation from UCSF in 2015, I moved to New York to complete my pediatric dentistry specialty training at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx. During residency, I received extensive clinical training in all aspects of pediatric dental care, including behavior management, dental trauma, sedation and anesthesia, and the treatment of patients with special healthcare needs. In 2018, I became board certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.

My goal is to make every child’s dental experience positive and fun! I strongly believe in educating my patients and their families on preventive dentistry and oral hygiene in order to cultivate positive attitudes toward oral health.
